Academics at LHA
Our educational journey begins in Junior Kindergarten and culminates with our graduation in Grade 8.
Along this path, students at LHA acquire the skills, knowledge and love of learning to embark and succeed into the future.
Our professional and experienced staff members work to create a supportive, productive, and enjoyable class environment where students develop and build upon their academic, social and communication skills.

Secular Studies
Our Secular Studies program aligns with the Ontario Ministry of Education expectations. LHA’s curriculum exceeds the required expectations and all Secular Studies teachers are Ontario-certified.
The luxury of having small classes enables our teachers to:
Deliver the curriculum in a shorter period of time
Provide an enriched learning environment
Devote more time to each student
Standardized Testing
To ensure academic excellence, students from Grades 3 to 8 are required to complete a standardized test (CAT4) each year.
On average, our students perform in the 90th percentile and above in all areas of study.
Our highly qualified staff encourage students to partake in all activities as a way to grow and develop their creativity, and imagination, while fostering social and emotional development.
In addition to core academic subjects we include:
French
LHA developed curriculum for Grades 1 to 8
(Ministry of Ontario French curriculum guidelines Grades 4 to 8)
Physical Education
Large gymnasium for athletic skill development and team-building activities
Music and Art
Connecting to Israeli and Jewish culture through music and visual arts
Hebrew and Jewish Studies
LHA focuses on conversational and written fluency in Hebrew, Jewish history, holidays, and an awareness of the diverse range of cultural and religious practices that reflect the vitality of our community and contemporary Judaism.
Learning about Zionism and Israel is established very early on where students develop a love and deep connection to and understanding of our heritage, culture and history.
Shabbat celebrations are central to our Friday schedule, embracing the uniqueness of who we are and instilling a strong sense of community in our students. Israeli music, song and dance are incorporated into our celebrations throughout the year.
Extracurricular Activities
Our school day and curriculum are enhanced by various activities and clubs that are open to all students. Everyone is encouraged to participate.
Our after school and lunch activities include coding, science, STEM, drama, art, sewing, running, soccer, clay sculpting, music, clubs, and more.
There is truly something for everyone!
Aftercare
LHA offers daily aftercare from 3:45pm until 6:00pm, five days a week. We are proud to provide a safe, supervised environment with structured activities. We are here for our parents and guardians to make life easier and more convenient.
